The contractor for the new ALDI store is modifying State Route 143 between Valentine Lane and Cally Lane. They are widening the roadway to accommodate a left-turn lane for the store. The contractor provided the following summary:

Roadway improvements associated with the new ALDI store will require a temporary closure of Northwest Manor at its intersection with Illinois Route 143.
Beginning Monday, October 12, 2026, closures may occur Monday through Friday, from 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., for approximately three weeks, weather permitting.
The road will remain open whenever work allows, including days when a closure is not necessary. On days when the road is closed, it will reopen at the end of the workday and remain open overnight and on weekends.
During closure hours, residents should use Koepfli Lane as the alternate route to access the neighborhood.
Illinois Route 143 will also be reduced to one lane through the work area during this period. Motorists should expect delays and use an alternate route when possible. Those traveling through the work area should allow additional travel time and follow posted traffic controls.
