The Historical Commission meets the third Monday of February, May, August, and November, in the Council Chambers at City Hall, 1115 Broadway. The meetings begin at 6:30 PM and are open to the public.

Purpose:
The Historical Commission is a five-member advisory board established in 2019 to help promote the educational, cultural, economic, and general welfare of the City through identifying, preserving, protecting, enhancing, and encouraging the continued utlization and rehabilitation of such areas, properties, structures, sites, and objects having a special historical, community, architectural, or aesthetic interest or value to it. The Historical Commission may be called upon to provide guidance to the City in making decisions regarding areas, properties, structues, sites, and objects having a special historical, community, architectural, or aesthetic interest or value to the City. The Commission has no power over the City of any owner of real or personal property, regardless of any such property having any special historical, community, architectural, or aesthetic interest of value to the City.
