Year Two of Street Resurfacing Project Begins:  Motorists Advised to Use Alternate Routes and Follow Detour Routes

The City will commence the second year of its multi-year street resurfacing program beginning the week of September 22. This initiative builds on the success of last year’s project. It is designed to modernize the roadway surface, extend the life of existing pavement, and enhance traffic safety.

This year’s construction will primarily affect 7th Street, 9th Street, Poplar Street, and Lemon Street, where crews will be milling and replacing the asphalt surface. Work is expected to continue through the end of October, subject to weather conditions and field progress.

During active construction, traffic control measures will be in place. Motorists can expect periodic lane closures, restricted access to certain intersections, and posted detour routes. Streets will reopen at the end of the workday. We urge drivers to adhere to all signage, follow marked detours, and exercise caution when traveling near work zones.

During the work on Poplar Street, please use Washington Street and Lindenthal Avenue to bypass the work.  Please refrain from using Oak Street as an alternate route.
