Highland Police Department Launches Traffic Study in Lakeland Terrace Following Resident Concerns

The Highland Police Department, in partnership with the City of Highland residents, has initiated a comprehensive traffic study in the Lakeland Terrace neighborhood.  This action is in response to a petition submitted by numerous concerned residents, who cited issues with speeding vehicles and violations of traffic control devices within the area.

Beginning this week, officers will be in the area to increase traffic enforcement, and data collection will commence. The study will run for several weeks to ensure accurate data collection across different times of the day and days of the week.

The safety of our neighborhoods is always a top priority. We appreciate our residents for bringing these concerns forward, and we encourage community members to continue to partner with us to keep Highland safe.

The findings of the traffic study will be shared with city leadership and the Lakeland Terrace community once complete. Depending on the results, recommendations may include enhanced enforcement, new signage, traffic calming measures, or other improvements to address the identified concerns.

Residents with questions or additional information about traffic issues in Lakeland Terrace are encouraged to contact the Highland Police Department at 618-654-3121 ext 1.

Respectfully,

Dr. Carole A. Widman, Chief of Police
