The snowstorm has passed, but the inconvenience remains. Starting tonight and for the next couple of nights, temperatures are predicted to be well below the point where salt is effective. Our street crews will be making final passes on city streets today. We encourage you to clear the ends of driveways and sidewalks today. Once it refreezes, it will be difficult to remove. Rock salt becomes much less effective when temperatures dip below 15 degrees.
The eight snow plows have been working continuously since very early Sunday morning. If you have a street that has not been plowed/salted, please get in touch with the Public Works Department at 618-654-9891, option #4.
