FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
In response to the State of Illinois’ coordinated efforts to contain the spread of the COVID-19 Coronavirus, Governor Pritzker has ordered a Stay at Home Order for the State of Illinois beginning Saturday, March 21, 2020 at 5 pm and lasting through April 7, 2020. (Executive Order 2020-10)
Essential services will remain open. Grocery stores, Pharmacies, Doctor’s Offices, Hospitals, Gas Stations, Banks and Restaurants offering delivery, drive-thru and carry-out will still be open and available. Plumbers and Electricians and other essential services will continue.
Non-essential businesses and School closures have been extended until April 8, 2020. Please see the attached Executive Order 2020-10 and the frequently asked questions provided by the Governor’s Office for more information.
For many of us who have been living by the official recommendations prior to this order, activities will not change drastically as a result of this order. There is no need to run to the store and over buy or hoard items. Distribution centers will remain open, trucks are still operating and roads are still open. Citizens are asked to resume their normal shopping routines so supply chains can catch up and there are enough supplies available for those who need them.
Please know and rest assured that your emergency services and healthcare workers have been preparing for this pandemic, and we stand ready to serve the community during this time. Let’s show our Bulldog Pride Highland, and set the example for other communities on how to handle this public health crisis.
