The Highland Police Department would like to make you aware of a potential scam. It has come to our attention that individuals are calling residents claiming to be from the “Publishers Clearing House.” These individuals are asking for whoever answers the telephone to either meet them at a local business or purchase gift cards to forward to them as confirmation of their sweepstakes win.
Please do not meet anyone or mail anyone money/gift cards to claim a prize. Legitimate businesses do not request this type of behavior.
If you receive one of these calls, simply hang up and do not provide any personal information.
