Silver Lake Fish Harvest

On Friday, October 19th the City of Highland in partnership with the Illinois Department of Natural Resources fisheries division harvested over 1700 largemouth bass from its rearing pond located within Silver Lake Park. The fish were measured, weighed, and then released into Silver Lake in order to benefit the large mouth bass fishery in the lake. The harvest is performed annually along with an additional stocking made in the summer months.  For additional information regarding the harvest, please contact Natural Resource Manager Ryan Hummert at rhummert@highlandil.gov.
