The state of Illinois is preparing to begin work on U.S. Hwy. 40 with a planned start on March 6. The work will consist of new ADA curb ramps at the intersection of Walnut Street and US 40, a box culvert extension in front of Hi Top Bowl, and new pavement surface from just east of Walnut Street heading west out of Highland past St. Jacob. You should expect delays and temporary lane closures, but should not see any complete road closures.
