The Highland Police Department has been made aware of a post on TikTok that warned of potential of violence to “every school in the USA, even elementary” on December 17, 2021. While threats on a national scale are not necessarily credible, and there were no specific threats to Highland or any Highland schools, we at the Highland Police Department are taking precautions to ensure our students and staff members are safe. Please refrain from reposting or creating additional posts regarding this situation as it typically causes unwarranted panic.
On December 17, 2021, you will see officers visible at each learning institution within our city. This information has been forwarded to schools outside of our city limits but within our district. In the event you witness something suspicious, please contact the Highland Police Department at 618-654-2131.
