Sarah Sloan - Councilwoman

My husband Bill and I moved to Highland in 2008 from a small town called Berkeley. We do not have any children, but we are proud parents to our 2 wonderful dogs and 3 cats.  I fell in love with this community the first time I ever visited. Shortly after moving to Highland, I quickly became involved and was ready to meet new people. I joined the Highland Jaycees and am forever grateful for my membership with them.  My involvement has given me ample opportunities to give back and create positive change in our community. From leading our Chapter to National Award Recognition for Outstanding Community Organization and Sarah Sloan - Councilwoman - Actual SizeOutstanding Project of the Year for Schweizerfest. To meeting our Mayor and designing and implementing
our Dog Park. In 2018 I received my Senatorship with the Jaycees, which is the Highest Honor you can receive.  You have seen me whether I have taught your children, welcomed you at many events in our community, or opened my house for countless of donations to give back to families in our community.  In 2018 I joined the Highland Rotary and am looking forward to working with a new organization.  Other involvements include being an Ambassador for the Highland Chamber of Commerce.

I previously have worked at McGinley in Highland as their Finance Representative for 5 years. I  have also  taught in Highland as a substitute teacher for the past 9 years and I  am currently working at DJ Howard & Associates as their Office Manager.

I am grateful for the opportunity to work with the  City Council because I am able to continue making an impact in my community and helping where help is needed. I look forward meeting new people and am ready for this next journey.
