Boating

All boats are required to have a City of Highland boat license with a 50 H.P. limit on engines.  No other motor is permitted to be on the boat, no exceptions.  A current Illinois watercraft identification card is required for motorized vessels.  All permits may be purchased at City Hall between 8am - 4:30pm Monday through Friday and at the Highland Police Department on weekends and holidays.  Annual Pontoon Boat Dock Lease Space Available

Canoes, kayaks, and paddleboards are no longer required to be titled/registered in Illinois, but must possess a City of Highland sticker to use Silver Lake and/or the Old City Resevoir.
