This course will have Online Learning with classroom sessions for review, skills, and test. All class meetings must be attended in order to receive certification. Accommodations will not be made for schedule conflicts and make up dates are not available. Course fees are non-refundable.

Prerequisites:
- Minimum Age 15 by the last day of the class
- Swim-Tread-Swim Sequence without rest: 150 yard swim of front crawl, breaststroke, or a combination of both, at surface tread water 2 minutes using only legs, finish with a 50 yard swim. Participants may use googles, but may not stop to rest.
- Without goggles swim 20 yards with retrieval of a 10 lb. brick from the deep water within one minute 40 second
Online Portion must be completed before the first day of the class.
Location: Classroom Sessions held at both Highland Community Pool and Korte Recreation Center.
2024 Classroom Dates: May 29th, 30th, and 31st
Classroom Times: 8am to 4pm
Fees: Residents $160 Local Non-residents $170 Distant Non-residents $215 * Candidates interested in working as a lifeguard for the City of Highland may qualify for reimbursement after meeting specific criteria
