Included in the Audit and Financial Reports, is a Management's Discussion and Analysis and Statistical Section. These sections highlight financial information and provide details on financial history for tax and governmental revenues along with governmental expenditures, property values and construction information, property tax rates and extensions, total property tax rate histories for City residents, additional details regarding debt, history of operational results for the light and power, water, and sewer funds, and a miscellaneous statistical page. Also included is a look to the future for what the City is planning for future improvements and additional details on current operations.
The Annual Treasurer's reports fulfill a requirement found in the Illinois Compiled Statutes 65 ILCS 5/3.1-35-65. This report is also published annually in a local printed publication.
Annual Budgets are presented following approval. The annual budget process begins each year in the fall of the preceding year and is approved and adopted by the City Council annually at the 2nd Council meeting in April.
