I was born in Highland and graduated from Highland High School.   I was inspired by John F. Kennedy when he said, "Ask not what your country can do for you...but what you can do for your country."  After high school I joined the U.S. Marine Corps and served for 27 years.  I held both enlisted and officer positions in the Military Occupational Specialty Naval Aviation Ordnance with tours on the West Coast at Marine Corps Air Station El Toro and Naval Air Station North Island, as well as several military installations in the Washington, D.C. area and five years combined overseas deployments in Japan, Korea, the Philippines, Kuwait, Bahrain, and Saudi Arabia.   I served on-board the U.S.S. Forrestal in the Mediterranean Sea and on-board U.S. flagged ships and oil drilling platforms in the Persian Gulf.

I have also served 19 years as a civilian contractor in the Department of Defense Acquisition and Weapon Systems Explosive Safety Program in the Washington D.C.  area.

I enjoy martial arts training and fitness and have authored two books on the subject.  Other hobbies are car shows,  driving in asphalt and dirt track racing, and caring for my Yellow head Amazon Nap Parrot, Rudy.   As a Marine Corps leader and martial artist, I enjoy empowering people to reach their full potential and career success.

I have been service-oriented most of my life and continue to be inspired by JFK, serving you, the citizens, on the city's Parks and Recreation Advisory Commission.  And now, I am a citizen reporting for duty on the Highland City Council!
